Dear quarantine…

Dear quarantine, keep it up. I really needed to slow down and breathe. This week I am not working and in the last few days there has been a lot of sun, which is a miracle here in Cambridge. So, I’m recovering the love relationship with myself that in recent times – perhaps because of the frequent dark, cold and difficult “weather” … – I had interrupted. You drive me crazy, Gi. How pleasant are these last days.. I’ve been spending my vacation taking my time, chanting daimoku (nam myoho renge kyo), reading a lot as I haven’t been able to do for a long time – and even in the sun most of the time.- I also do a few online workout sessions, I watch documentaries, films and TV series, listen to music, sing at the karaoke with Alexa while I am tidying up the kitchen at the end of the day (sometimes I also do a little dance), I write, call or videocall my friends and family, and I also use my beautiful camera to take photos like this one. For now, the scenario will be limited to the walls and home garden, guys.
Grateful for my present (and also for what has passed, although in some cases it did it on me with the same delicacy as a speeding twenty-carriage train)

Quarantine time in Cambridge

Yesterday was my day-off, and I went to stock up on some food supplies etc. I woke up with a headache and with all the coronavirus that I could feel on me (do you happen to occasionally somatize stress and anxiety like this?) – The good thing, tough, is that I have been very happy to find empty roads and more precautions than last week in supermarkets.

As you can see from the pictures, the weather is miraculously merciful at least. How much this sun helps! 💪☀️

My headache passed after I brought the groceries home and disinfected everything.

My latest radio Dante show on Christmas in Literature

Here it is, my latest radio Dante show, half an hour in Italian and half an hour in English, about Christmas in Literature. We talked about Gianni Rodari (what beautiful poems he has made!) and Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Of course, there is also some very good music to listen to! 👌🎶

Extinction Rebellion against climate emergency in Cambridge (Uk)

Yesterday, a very peaceful protest from climate change activists Extinction Rebellion was set in the Grafton Centre in Cambridge. It was a Black Friday protest to bring attention to the way consumerism is contributing to the climate and ecological crisis. The non-violent activist movement points out how the festive seasons create mountains of plastic pollution, produce massive amounts of carbon emissions from cars, and waste tonnes of food. The logo of the XR group is an hourglass inside a circle which represents time running out for many species. I agree with them when they state that we are in a climate and ecological emergency. Anyone should play its part and make the difference to save our planet and our lives.

A long day comes to an end, finally. Going home… … where I’ll watch Gomorrah, the series 😜. This is a definitely out of context video. Here there are no alleys, like the song says about Naples. Here there are completely different stories and the rhythm is completely another. Tonight nobody will mess with me … and ciao! 👋
